Role Summary

The Senior System Administrator - End User Compute (EUC) is responsible for the engineering, administration, support, and continuous improvement of the enterprise endpoint environment. This role serves as an experienced technical contributor who partners closely with Lead and Principal System Administrators to deliver secure, reliable, and modern end-user computing services. 

The Senior System Administrator is expected to independently manage complex technical work, implement new technologies, support platform operations, and contribute to endpoint modernization initiatives. This role combines strong operational expertise with hands-on engineering skills to ensure endpoint platforms remain secure, compliant, and aligned with organizational standards. 

This position requires significant experience supporting enterprise endpoint environments and the ability to troubleshoot, implement, automate, and optimize endpoint technologies at scale. 

Responsibilities 

Endpoint Engineering & Administration:

  • Administer and support enterprise endpoint management platforms. 
  • Engineer, deploy, and maintain endpoint technologies across the enterprise fleet. 
  • Support Windows, macOS, virtual desktop, and cloud-based endpoint platforms. 
  • Implement endpoint configuration baselines, policies, and standards. 
  • Support operating system lifecycle activities, including deployments, upgrades, patching, and decommissioning. 

Platform Operations & Support:

  • Serve as a senior technical resource for endpoint operations and platform support. 
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex endpoint issues. 
  • Participate in root cause analysis and problem management activities. 
  • Assist with maintaining platform stability, performance, and availability. 
  • Support incident response activities involving endpoint technologies. 

Endpoint Security & Compliance: 

  • Support implementation and maintenance of endpoint security controls. 
  • Assist with vulnerability remediation efforts and compliance initiatives. 
  • Support Microsoft Defender Antivirus, Windows Defender Application Control (WDAC), device compliance policies, and endpoint protection technologies. 
  • Help maintain secure endpoint configurations and operational standards. 
  • Partner with Security teams to address identified risks and remediation activities. 

Modern Workplace Technologies:

  • Participate in implementation of new End User Compute solutions and services. 
  • Support endpoint modernization initiatives, including Microsoft Intune, Microsoft Entra ID, Autopilot, Windows 365, virtual desktop platforms, and Digital Employee Experience solutions. 
  • Assist with solution testing, validation, deployment, and operational transition activities. 

Automation & Continuous Improvement:

  • Develop and maintain automation solutions using PowerShell and other scripting technologies. 
  • Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and reduce manual effort. 
  • Create and maintain technical documentation and knowledge articles. 
  • Contribute to engineering best practices and platform standardization efforts. 

Project Participation:

  • Contribute to endpoint-focused projects and engineering initiatives. 
  • Perform technical implementation activities within established project plans. 
  • Collaborate with Infrastructure, Security, Networking, Service Desk, and other technology teams. 
  • Support successful deployment and operationalization of new services and capabilities. 

Qualifications

Required:

  • 5+ years of experience supporting enterprise endpoint environments. 
  • Strong experience administering Windows endpoint platforms. 
  • Experience with Microsoft Intune, MECM/SCCM, Microsoft Entra ID, Microsoft Defender, Windows Defender Application Control (WDAC), and PowerShell. 
  • Experience supporting endpoint security and compliance programs. 
  • Experience with operating system deployment, patching, and lifecycle management. 
  • Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills. 
  • Ability to independently manage technical assignments with limited oversight. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 

Preferred:

  • Experience supporting global environments with 5,000+ endpoints. 
  • Experience with Windows 365, Azure Virtual Desktop, Citrix. 
  • Experience with Microsoft Autopilot and modern device management. 
  • Experience with Nexthink, Tanium, CrowdStrike, or similar enterprise platforms. 
  • Experience in financial services or other regulated industries. 
  • Microsoft, security, or endpoint management certifications. 

Leadership Expectations 

  • Operate as a trusted technical resource within the End User Compute team. 
  • Independently execute complex engineering and operational tasks. 
  • Mentor junior administrators and share technical knowledge. 
  • Contribute to technical standards and operational improvements. 
  • Balance user experience, security, reliability, and operational efficiency. 
  • Drive continuous improvement through automation and process optimization. 
  • Escalate strategic or architectural concerns appropriately to Lead and Principal System Administrators.

FINRA licenses are not required and will not be supported for this role.

Work Flexibility

This role is eligible for hybrid work, with up to three days per week from home.

Base Salary Ranges

$96,500.00 - $164,000.00 for the location of: Maryland, Colorado, Washington and remote workers
$105,000.00 - $180,000.00 for the location of: Washington, D.C.
$120,000.00 - $205,000.00 for the location of: New York, California

Placement within the range provided above is based on the individual’s relevant experience and skills for the role.  Base salary is only one component of our total compensation package.  Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus, which is determined upon company and individual performance.
