Role Summary
Shape the next generation of investment intelligence by identifying, evaluating, and integrating the world’s leading AI technologies into T. Rowe Price’s research and investment ecosystem. You will guide how external innovation becomes internal advantage bridging cutting-edge vendor capabilities with the needs of all investors.
As an Investment AI Vendor Research Analyst, you will support the discovery, assessment, and onboarding of best-in-class AI platforms, ensuring our investment teams have access to the most powerful, secure, and advanced tools in the market. This role sits at the intersection of technology strategy and investment insight combining deep curiosity about emerging AI systems with a strong understanding of investor workflows, data architecture, and enterprise delivery.
Working closely with investors, AI researchers, and procurement specialists, you will coordinate with cutting-edge AI companies, pilot the most advanced tools available and provide recommendations. You will ensure every partnership directly enhances alpha generation, research efficiency, and long-term value creation for T. Rowe Price clients.
Responsibilities
Support the Evaluation and Integration of AI Vendors
Utilize deep knowledge of the investment process at T. Rowe Price to identify, assess, and shape high value AI opportunities aligned with T. Rowe Price’s investment strategies.
Create and independently manage a structured vendor evaluation framework encompassing performance, security, compliance, cost, interoperability, and investment relevance. Advance vendor choices that maximize strategic and financial value.
Lead highly complex cross-functional teams comprised of investments, technology, and risk through due diligence, proof-of-concept execution, and enterprise-scale onboarding.
Uses sophisticated analytical thought to translate emerging vendor capabilities into strategic opportunities that enhance research discovery, modeling, and portfolio decision-making.
Architect and Operationalize Vendor Strategy
Create and maintain a comprehensive roadmap for AI and data vendor engagement across the investment organization.
Drive the integration of selected vendors into enterprise platforms, ensuring seamless interoperability with existing data and modeling pipelines.
Collaborate with Technology and TRP Labs teams to ensure proper governance, observability, and lifecycle management of vendor-provided AI systems.
Support contract negotiations to maximize the impact of vendor partnerships on strategic objectives.
Drive Continuous Improvement and Thought Leadership
Maintain a deep understanding of the AI vendor landscape in coordination with enterprise, CPET, and investors.
Proactively identify new market entrants, pilot promising technologies, and contribute to the firm’s long-term AI investment vendor strategy.
Partner, Influence, and Communicate
Build trusted relationships with analysts, portfolio managers, and leaders to understand evolving needs and identify value creation opportunities through external technologies.
Act as an advisor to senior leadership and present vendor analyses, tradeoffs, and recommendations in clear, data-driven, and business-focused narratives.
Serve as a liaison between vendors and internal teams, ensuring successful adoption, compliance alignment, and measurable impact from each integration.

Measurable contributions to alpha generation, productivity, and cost efficiency through third-party technologies.
Qualifications
Required:
B.S. in financial, quantitative or technical discipline (Finance, Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or related field).
Solid understanding of modern AI/ML technologies (including generative AI and large language models, multi-agent systems, and data pipeline orchestration) and their business applications. Able to identify where AI can drive efficiency and innovation.
Demonstrated ability to build robust business cases, prioritize initiative portfolios, and drive cross functional excellence.
5+ years’ experience working as an investment professional (asset management, equity/credit research, or adjacent financial services).
Proven ability to manage complex vendor evaluations, negotiate requirements, and oversee enterprise integrations.
Familiarity with enterprise data platforms and cloud infrastructure (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks, AWS, Azure, or GCP).
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate technical evaluations into business outcomes.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience quantifying the impact of technology decisions on business performance.
Preferred:
Experience implementing AI in large-scale enterprise environments, including exposure to AI governance or ethics frameworks. Experience contributing to technology standards or policies (e.g., model risk management, AI ethics).
Familiarity with procurement processes and vendor lifecycle management in highly regulated industries.
10+ years’ experience working as an investment professional (asset management, equity/credit research, or adjacent financial services).
