The Director, Corporate and Physical Security Officer provides the strategic vision for and driving the flawless execution of the strategies, programs and policies for safety, security and threat protection of our properties, offices, customers, and associates. It also plays the lead role in driving how TRP responds to incidents, emergencies, and crises. It has a primary focus on:

Role Summary
The Director, Corporate and Physical Security Officer adopts a technology-focused and data-driven approach to predicting, assessing, mitigating, and managing safety and security risks. This role collaborates with the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) and other relevant teams, such as building operations and engineering, where digital security intersects with areas like cybersecurity and data protection, to foster a cohesive and aligned strategy for ensuring safety and security. Additionally, this position oversees the firm’s crisis management efforts during crisis events at our office locations globally. It also ensures compliance with applicable regulations, analyzes all risk-related issues, and recommends improvements, modifications, and new procedures where controls are necessary.
Responsibilities
Strategic Security Leadership:
- Provides innovative, strategic thought leadership on best practices in safety, security, threat protection, crisis management, and investigations.
- Develops and implements security strategies, programs, policies, and procedures to safeguard the organization's physical assets, employees, clients, and reputation, with a global influence.
- Acts as the primary advisor to the senior leadership team and board of directors on physical safety and security issues, offering guidance on executive protection, insider threat protection, and crisis management.
- Collaborates with leaders from across global disciplines and regions to ensure alignment, consistency, and implementation of the firm’s safety and security strategy.
- Leads the strategy and execution of the firm’s response to safety and security incidents through effective crisis management protocols, partnering with the CISO and other leaders as needed for a unified approach to crisis management.
- Fosters a culture of safety and security awareness and compliance throughout the organization at all levels, through thought leadership, talent development, training programs, and awareness campaigns.
Safety & Security Operations:
- Acts as the global leader of the Center of Excellence for physical safety and security, utilizing a data-driven and intelligence-focused approach for monitoring and detection. Establishes the strategy and holds ultimate responsibility for physical safety and security measures, including access control, surveillance, and notification systems.
- Offers both strategic and operational leadership for security and safety at our physical locations. Drives the development of policies and programs that are implemented throughout the organization. Ensures that the organization and its personnel are well-educated in safety and security best practices, policies, and procedures.
- Directs security vendor management and strategy for identifying, assessing, and prioritizing physical security and safety risks.
- Crafts and upholds incident response plans and protocols to mitigate impact and ensure swift resolution of security and safety incidents. Guarantees that crisis management plans, from property level to executive level, stay pertinent to the changing threats and risks the company encounters. Conducts regular crisis management workshops and tabletop exercises.
- Collaborates with the Chief Information Security Officer and other relevant teams at the intersection of physical and digital security, such as cybersecurity, data protection, and insider threat management.
Executive Protection:
- Oversees the Executive Protection Program to ensure the safety and security of senior leaders. This includes leading the team responsible for conducting risk assessments and threat analyses for travel, meetings, and events, as well as managing the professionals or vendors providing protection for relevant executives.
- Leads relationship management initiatives and coordinates with law enforcement, security agencies, and other pertinent organizations to support executive protection efforts.
- Like the broader company's physical security and safety efforts, leads risk assessments and threat analyses related to executive protection activities. Utilizes data and intelligence to predict, monitor, and analyze security trends and intelligence, proactively addressing potential threats.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education and relevant experience AND
- 10+ years of total relevant work experience
Preferred:
- Related work experience in security strategy, investigations, operational management, compliance, legal, privacy, or related field.
- Experience leading executive protection programs.
- Banking, criminal investigation, public accounting or internal audit experience preferred.
- A demonstrated understanding of the political, social, and economic conditions of the financial services environment regarding security and risk management.
- Up-to-date knowledge and familiarity with physical security best practices.
- Ability to thrive in a highly visible role, make meaningful connections with associates across the organization to better understand their needs, and work onsite five business days a week.
- Must be willing and able to travel to other domestic and/or global office locations at least once a year to support cross-location collaboration and organizational initiatives. Exceptional written communication skills, including preparing presentations for an executive audience.
- Excellent executive presence (including interfacing with Management Committee members) and oral communication skills.
