Role Summary

We are looking for a Business Analyst who has a passion, vision and technical acumen to help drive strategic initiatives and meet the needs of the USI Secure Digital Experience business. In this role, you will act as the main interface between technology and a specific business/functional area. Incumbents help define business requirements, build application and process specifications, coordinate with delivery teams, and ensure that work is prioritized by business value and in alignment with the overarching business and technical strategies.

Responsibilities
- Defining business needs for new and/or enhanced products, services, or optimized business processes
- Active participation throughout the software development process
- Working closely with a variety of internal and external business partners to ensure that all business requirements are understood, documented, and met
- Applies a lean-agile mind-set to work and supports organizational agility
- Efforts are focused on a specific system or business applications
- Independently works with domain experts on low to medium complexity work to ensure clarity of the problem/opportunity and elicit business requirements
- Demonstrating strong logic and reasoning capabilities
- Delivering on well-specified work items
- Using questions and proposals to clarify requirements when unclear
- Leading discussions with the business on multiple options to help address the root cause, including various trade-offs and recommended approach.
- You may provide on-the-job training to new team members
Business Knowledge:
- You can apply your understanding of the Financial Services and Asset Management industries
- Your work interconnects with the strategy of their team and/or department
- You articulate business needs and translate them into technology solutions
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience AND 1+ year of relevant Business Analyst expertise
- You can articulate all phases of the software development process
- You actively seek feedback and guidance to improve technical skills
- Identify system/process/data impacts (upstream and downstream) and proposes appropriate alternatives/ remediation
- Demonstrate some understanding in multiple technologies/ applications
- Can explain basic technical concepts to a non-technical audience
- Identify impacts across teams and coordinates to manage dependencies and potentially competing priorities
Preferred:
- Understands software engineering practices and relevant team's SDLC (Software Engineering Lifecycle)
- Comfortable with engineering collaboration tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, Miro, etc.) to enhance communication and execution within engineering teams
FINRA Requirements
FINRA licenses are not required and will not be supported for this role.
Work Flexibility
This role is eligible for hybrid work, with up to three days per week from home.
