About the Team
Quantitative Company Research (QCR) is a new investment research team with the objective of generating alpha by applying quantitative methods within the fundamental research process. The team will leverage traditional financial statement data, alternative data, and statistical analysis to help inform our fundamental analyst ratings. QCR is part of the broader TRPIM Quant team.
Role Summary
The T. Rowe Price Investment Management (TRPIM) Quantitative Company Research Team is seeking a Quantitative Investment Analyst to make a meaningful contribution to their quant research and analytics efforts, with a key focus on generating alpha.
Responsibilities
- Perform quantitative and statistical analysis on financial data, alternative data, and other information sources to support fundamental analysts in generating alpha.
- Collaborate with fundamental analysts to integrate insights from quantitative research into their investment process.
- Conduct research and analysis on related investment topics, such as the statistical evaluation of company-specific risks, quantitative drivers of company fundamentals, and base rate analyses.
- Evaluate and derive investment insights from alternative data sources to enhance fundamental models and decision-making processes.
- Partner with technology associates to ensure data pipelines, analytical tools, and model production processes are scalable, robust, and accurate.
- Stay current with industry and academic research, and proactively implement innovative ideas to improve the team's methodologies and deliverables.
Qualifications
Required:
- BA/BS in Mathematics, Finance, or closely related field with other related strong credentials/strong academic background and 1+ years of work experience.
- Technical or statistical programming skills with a demonstrated ability to apply those skills to modeling problems.
- Highly motivated, confident self-starter with ability to work independently and with others.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, thriving in dynamic and collaborative team environments.
- Programming experience in R and/or Python.
- Completion of or progress towards CFA or comparable designation. Commitment to obtain a CFA charter.
Preferred:
- Prior experience in the financial services industry, preferably in quantitative research.
- Experience conducting empirical research and working with large data sets.
FINRA Requirements
FINRA licenses are not required and will not be supported for this role.
Work Flexibility
This role is eligible for hybrid work, with up to one day per week from home.
