About this Job
The Fixed Income Research Liaison acts to support the Fixed Income Credit Analysts as a primary point of contact between the Fixed Income investment staff and other operational teams and is actively building their subject matter experience through on the job learning. Responsible for ensuring fixed income issuers and securities are setup correctly, and providing support to FI credit analysts including ratings management, analyst attribution, and quantitative support. Above average technical skills needed to manage the analytics and analyst attribution. Employees must have critical thinking skills and abilities to solve complex problems in the absence of technological solutions. Must have above average communication skills including technical writing to concisely summarize and communicate between investment personnel and operational teams.
Role Summary
Requires conceptual knowledge of theories and practices in their own job discipline. Works within standardized procedures and practices to achieve objectives and meet deadlines. Accountable for their own contributions; regularly verifies that work quality and timeliness meet team objectives. Works under established parameters for daily work; may receive more guidance on new assignments. Supports investment teams through all stages of the client life cycle by managing standard investment-related, operational activities.
Responsibilities
- Under the general guidance of senior team members and management, supports the ongoing operational activities associated with portfolio management and credit research. Example activities includes researching and analyzing investment and performance data; generating bespoke investment-, risk-, and performance-related reporting; and resolving low to moderately complex investment-related operational issues independently.
- Provide various quantitative reports for risk positioning and metrics
- Uses some discretion to coordinate credit analyst responses to ad hoc and recurring quantitative investment-related data inquiries posed by internal teams, clients, consultants, and prospects.
- Drive innovation and process improvement solutions.
- Has the ability to work within a close team on shared work.
- Drafts response to complex requests for review by more experienced managers.
- Develops content as directed by investment staff and senior team members.
- With guidance and oversight from senior team members and management, serves as project participant on investments-initiated projects.
- Develops use cases and testing plans and participates in unit testing as requested to ensure successful outcomes.
- Possesses the ability to navigate 3rd party research and ratings platforms to compile data.
- Under the direction of senior team members and management, participates in training new employees on policies and procedures.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education and relevant experience AND
- 2+ years of total relevant work experience
Preferred:
- Progress towards an MBA, MSF or CFA program.
- Strong technical skills are needed to manage analytics and portfolio attribution.
- Advanced Excel skills, SQL, and Power Bi experience preferred.
- Employees must have critical thinking skills and abilities to solve complex problems in the absence of technological solutions.
- Strong communication skills including technical writing to concisely summarize and communicate between investment personnel and operational teams are needed for this role.
- Previous experience with Fixed Income concepts, data, or analytics.
FINRA Requirements
FINRA licenses are not required and will not be supported for this role.
Work Flexibility
This role is eligible for hybrid work, with up to two days per week from home.
