Role Summary

Leads the communications and outreach efforts to foster relationships with highly influential consulting firms whose endorsement and promotion of the organization has a significant impact on the business unit's achievement of financial goals and access to major clients. Serves as a subject matter expert and key advisor for the organization, and is responsible for managing the most complex, high-profile consultant relations issues. Provides leadership to less experienced professionals and assigns tasks. Is responsible for specialized initiatives spanning multiple critical business areas.

Responsibilities

  • In collaboration with leadership, develops communications strategy for working across consulting firms, including regional and global firms, newer firms, and more established firms.
  • Ensures the organization's interests are expertly represented to consulting firms. Effectively manages consultant relationships with assigned consultants (typically considered tier I) to position T. Rowe Price as consulting firms' exclusive partner for a variety of services. Negotiates special terms and discounts on T. Rowe Price’s products and services to gain partnership agreements.
  • Ensures brand awareness among highly influential and important consulting firms of the organization's services, including recordkeeping and investment management strategies, among others. Communicates the most complex information about the organization leveraging unique and highly advanced expertise, ensuring responses that align with the overall message of the organization. Effectively gains acceptance for and asserts influence to ensure understanding of the organization's products and services.
  • Evaluates and responds to the most complex information requests from consultants. Guides team members in preparing technical materials, synthesizing multiple sources of information into a cohesive and knowledgeable response, including recommendations for action by the consultant/client. Develops new processes or strategies to enhance the team’s ability to gain client trust and encourage adoption of recommendations.
  • Partners with other leaders in sales to ensure consultant relationships strategy is aligned with future direction of the firm, as well as other sales and business development strategies. Directly influences the organization's long-term overall consultant relations strategy.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education and relevant experience AND
  • 10+ years of total relevant work experience
  • Series 7 and 3
  • An investment certification such as the CFA, CAIA or CFP would be beneficial

Preferred:

  • 10+ years of retirement industry experience
  • Experience working with large DC Aggregators or Broker Dealers
  • FINRA Series 6 or 7 licensed
  • Experience with record keeping platform sales, client service or consultant relations
  • Experience working with an asset manager with record keeping capabilities

FINRA Requirements

FINRA licenses are required and will be supported for this role.
