Role Summary
Supports investment teams through all stages of the client life cycle by managing investment-related, operational activities. Acts as a conduit for investments by leveraging foundational business and technical knowledge to manage complex investment-related, operational activities.
Responsibilities
- Supports ongoing operational activities associated with portfolio management of firm and client strategies.
- Example activities include but are not limited to: Researching and analyzing data as it relates to Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) investing operations; generating scheduled and bespoke reporting for internal and external clients; providing operational support for the life cycle of a proxy vote; reviewing, researching and resolving proxy-related operational issues of varying complexity levels independently
- Uses autonomy in decision-making to ensure operational readiness to support investment management activities globally.
- Example activities include but are not limited to: Reviewing and processing votes; performing quality control and reconciliation of proprietary and client data; communicating with the Governance teams, globally; opening and maintaining account records at the custodian and proxy vendor; working closely with the proxy vendor to resolve issues
- Uses discretion to coordinate Governance team responses to ad hoc and recurring quantitative ESG Investing-related data inquiries posed by internal teams, clients, consultants, and prospects.
- Provides leadership and guidance to teammates, collaborating effectively to achieve departmental goals.
- Serves as project participant or lead, as required, on investments-initiated and investment operations-directed projects. Develops use cases and testing plans and participates in user acceptance testing to ensure successful outcomes.
- Maintains accurate and complete procedural documentation for assigned responsibilities, participates in cross-training exercises and provides operational coverage as needed within assigned team.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
- 4+ years of total relevant work experience
- Preferred Qualifications
- Investment management or portfolio management support experience, knowledge or understanding of investment process.
- Advanced skills in Excel, Adobe, Word and PowerPoint
- Exceptional analytical and communication skills, attention to detail and diligence
- Demonstrated ability to identify and mitigate operational, financial and reputational risk.
Preferred:
- Experience with Proxy Voting process and Proxy Voting operations (a plus, but not required)
