Role Summary

The Head of Business Enablement role is accountable for enabling people, process, and technology across the corporate finance business. Acts as the primary interface between specific business/functional area and leadership. Oversees initiatives that are defined by business strategy and contribute to the organization's values and vision.​ This role will provide leadership and direction to managers accountable for general management responsibilities as well as provide oversight and direction to enable technology systems and data governance across the CFO Group.

Responsibilities:

  • Works with business leaders to develop long-term or strategic planning for the business support function and procedures for their implementation. Collaborates and manages engagement with senior-level key and strategic business partners, manages strategic communications and annual business planning process for a business unit.​ Holds the team accountable for developing actionable plans to achieve strategic plan for enablement. 

  • Identifies business unit requirements, creates project and process specifications, coordinates with project teams, and ensures that projects are on schedule and within budget​.  Provides expert guidance on complex action planning and how best to tie plan into larger strategic goals and objectives. Establishes effectiveness, proficiency, and productivity metrics for enablement tools and platforms. Establishes an integrated approach to training development and delivery across all the segments. Cascades guidance down to subordinate management teams and provides advice on translating strategies into actionable short-term objectives. Partners with others inside and outside the organization to solve problems and to establish new ways of working.

  • Acts as an escalation point for unprecedented problems or roadblocks that subordinate managers cannot solve. Leverages management relationships to remove roadblocks or resolve an impasse in decision-making. Assesses and addresses any systemic issues contributing to high-level barriers to progress.

  • Ensures direct feedback from business leaders is incorporated into function strategy to drive improvement, growth, and early mitigation of issues due to flaw in policies or procedures.​

  • Serves as a subject matter expert in technical aspects of business support and develops any novel analytic or decision-making processes for the function in line with requirements set by business unit leaders supported. Creates and implements novel solutions to the most complex issues posed by other leaders.​

  • Leads a multi-functional team.  Recruits, directs, motivates, and develops strategic leaders, maximizing their individual contribution, their professional growth, and their ability to inspire success and to build and sustain a high performing, strategically focused workforce within their assigned departments. Sets the strategic direction for the financial and human resources for the function to include budgeting, staffing resources, etc.​

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education and relevant experience AND

  • 12+ years of total relevant work experience and 5+ years of management experience

Preferred :

  • Financial services experience preferred, in particular asset management

  • Consulting, financial planning and analysis, or strategy experience preferred

  • Understand how technology is used to enable and/or transform business processes

  • Process orientation mindset, with experience improving or enhancing the way in which work is performed

  • Exceptional written communication skills including preparing presentations

  • Excellent executive presence (including with Management Committee members) and oral communication skills

  • Influential leader able to build consensus, bring others along, and drive change adapting to people or the situation; systematically builds support at multiple levels and across groups

  • Collaborative leader, able to develop broad and deep relationships across the organization

  • Hands on and detail oriented “doer”; rolls-up his/ her sleeves and does real work

  • Proactive approach to setting priorities and executing; needs minimal guidance to execute

  • Determined leader with strong sense of accountability and ownership; tirelessly drives prompt execution

  • Ability to juggle many different projects and priorities simultaneously

  • Flexible working style
