Sr Analyst / Analyst, Middle Office - Ventures Distribution Operations*

Role Summary and Scope:  

 

Leads or assists the oversight of trade management responsibilities for Venture Capital Distribution Management Services and associated tasks. Utilizes technical and operational knowledge to resolve complex operating and account issues that often involve multiple internal groups or external parties. Manages relationships with third-party vendors. Works with the team in developing operational goals that are aligned with functional strategy. Identifies, drives, and implements process improvement initiatives with a critical focus on risk, control, and scalability. 

 

Requires in-depth knowledge and expertise in their own job discipline and working knowledge of related disciplines.  Leads projects or work streams within broader projects.  Accountable for work of self and sometimes others, provides process and standards advice in area of specialty.  Works independently, receives minimal guidance.  Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. 

 

Directly administers and processes the books and records for complex accounts.  Coordinates, checks, and validates transfers, settlements, redemptions, and reconciliations.  Works under minimal supervision with direct accountability for a set of accounts and/or an administrative process. 

 

General Responsibilities:  

• Administers a broad range of portfolio transactions, ensuring proper controls and validations are in place and that activities are accurate and compliant. Identifies quality, accuracy, or compliance deficiencies and corrects. Guides less experienced peers and support staff on preventing errors and interpreting process controls.  
• Serves as a primary liaison between securities operations staff, relationship managers, portfolio managers, custodians, and clients to collect, analyze, and communicate information that impacts accounts. Fields and manages queries from internal or external clients and follows through to resolution. 
• Prepares complex documentation for settlements, reconciliations, transfers, etc. Instructs team members on adjustments needed to books and records and performs a final quality review, confirming resolution. 
• Following established controls, checks and validates third-party reconciliations; provides feedback on third-party performance and quality to management. Works with clients and internal stakeholders to prepare account outsourcing plans; stewards account transition process to the end-state infrastructure of outsourced providers. 
• Analyzes report metrics and develops recommendations to address deficiencies. 

 

Typical Qualifications: 

Analyst, Middle Office - Ventures Distributions 

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience AND  
• 2+ years of related work experience 

 

Senior Analyst, Middle Office - Ventures Distributions 

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience AND 
• 5+ years of related work experience 

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

• Prior experience with Middle Office Trade Management for operational activities or accounting related to Venture Capital distribution management 
• People Management experience preferred for Sr Analyst level
• Knowledge of third-party vendor oversight, as well as overall Trade Support experience 
• Strong technical skills – in depth knowledge of systems, processes or function (i.e. Charles River IMS, SQL or similar)  
• Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines  
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate in a team environment and build strong relationships with Front Office
• Demonstrated initiative to proactively initiate process improvement opportunities  
• Adept at managing complex issues, identifying alternative solutions  

 

FINRA Requirements:  FINRA licenses are not required and will not be supported for this role. 

 

Work Flexibility: This role is eligible for remote work up to two days a week.
