Sales, Relationship Management, & Marketing Internship Program

The T. Rowe Price 10-week Summer Internship Program offers an opportunity to gain valuable work experience while building skills and long-term career potential. Through teamwork, innovative thinking, and application of your skills, you can add value and leave a lasting impact in a number of ways to our firm and the clients we support. You will have the opportunity to work with practitioners in the field who are experienced, forward-thinking, passionate people that will help you integrate what you learn in school with “real world” business initiatives.
The program includes a formal orientation, peer and senior mentor assignments, and formal learning opportunities. In addition to the work assignments within the assigned department, Interns also gain exposure to Associates and senior leaders across the firm through an executive speaker series, networking activities, and engagement with our Business Resource Groups.
Global Distribution:
We have great investment solutions, but we need to get those solutions into the hands of our clients. To help us connect with our clients, we have created robust and varied distribution channels. The Global Distribution team manages our relationships with financial institutions, financial advisors, and financial intermediaries who offer our investment solutions to clients. They manage relationships with U.S. and Americas based intermediaries as well as intermediaries in Asia, the Pacific region, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. This team also manages relationships with individual investors, retirement plan sponsors, and participants. Global Distribution also works to develop new global distribution channels.
Within Global Distribution we have opportunities within various distribution channels.
U.S. Intermediaries (USI):
The US Intermediaries business (USI) distributes investment solutions to Financial Advisors, Home Offices and Platforms across the United States. We offer products designed to meet clients’ needs including mutual funds, Separately Managed Accounts, Trusts/Sub-Advised and ETFs. The types of intermediaries that we partner with include broker/dealers, national and regional banks, registered investment advisors, platform service providers, large defined contribution recordkeepers, and insurance companies. Internship opportunities are within our integrated sales business. Cutting across both wealth and retirement, Integrated Sales drives commercial outcomes through internal partnerships, and (primarily) virtual client engagements.
The internship program will provide a consistent and accurate foundation upon which to make informed business decisions for the US Intermediaries department across all business segments including Broker Dealer, Financial Institutions and Retirement. Projects may include developing processes, creating reports, competitor and proprietary trade analysis, enhancing advisor profiling through data acquisition and inventory management.
Additional responsibilities may include:
- Evaluate and refine current processes and procedures
- Analyze current business strategy to identify areas of opportunity (from an internal process perspective as well as client-facing perspective)
- Prescribe a plan for implementation of changes and ways to monitor performance
Institutional Distribution (Americas):
Americas is responsible for T. Rowe Price’s institutional business in the US, and the institutional and intermediary business in Canada. We are responsible for new business development and for providing world-class service to some of the firm’s largest and most sophisticated clients.
Opportunities across the Americas include:
- Client Service – assist sales and client service teams to prepare and follow up on client and prospect meetings; capture key client trends
- Marketing – establish a client insights project to collect engagement metrics across various marketing channels (email, web, events, and social channels)
- Business Management - perform several projects important to enabling our sales and service team’s effectiveness including tracking sales goals and creation and delivery of business governance materials
Global Distribution & Enablement (GDEO):
The Marketing Enablement team under GDEO is accountable for advancing our marketing technology ecosystem and adoption to enable deep client and prospect engagement. The ideal candidate for this internship will be technically savvy and have experience with both social media and digital engagement tools and/or event platforms. The intern will provide support for the global event platforms team through user experience thinking and projects.
FINRA licenses are not required and will not be supported for this role.
Qualifications
- Full time student pursing a bachelor’s degree with and expected graduation date of December 2023 – May/June 2025.
- Open to all Majors including but not limited to Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, Economics, and Political Science
- Cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
- Strong interpersonal skills; both written and verbal
- Solid experience in Excel
- Interest in investing and following the markets
- Interest in a career trajectory in sales/relationship management including obtaining Series 7 and 66 licenses upon graduation in alignment with a full-time role (required for most roles in USI)
